COLLEGE UNION, ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMITTEES
The aims of the Associations and Committees are to widen the interests of the members, to enrich their social and spiritual experience and to develop leadership, initiative and good citizenship. The following Associations and Committees will be constituted for the current year.

The House System forms an integral part of the B.Ed, programme in the College. The whole students are divided in to four houses- Jyothi, Santhi, Sobha and Deepthi.
Nature Club
Environmental Education is one of our major concerns and this is achieved through Nature Club. Under the auspices of this club various eco-friendly programmes are conducted. This club helps the students to create awareness about our mother nature.
Blood donation Forum
The College has a Blood Donation Forum functioning under the Social Service League. Members of this forum donate blood to the needy. This forum is open to all students.
Women's Cell
All the lady students are the members of this Cell. It organizes Discussions, Seminars and various other useful activities for the students.
Medical Inspection
An annual Medical inspection is arranged for the students. The medical report is kept in the office and a duplicate copy is given to the students.
College Magazine
A magazine committee is in charge of publishing the college magazine every year. The Committee is constituted every year comprising of the Principal (Ex-officio Chairman), Staff Editor, Student Editor and four elected student representatives.
Other Activities in the Academic Year 2009-10
 
» The women's hostel was consecrated and inaugurated on the 1st of November2009 by the supreme head of the Mar Thoma Church, Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan.
» The classes for the new batch of B.Ed. began on the 9th of November 2009.
» The staff retreat for the academic year 2009-2010 was held on the 11th of November. Rev. K.S. Mathew was the chief guest.
» The official inauguration of the B.Ed. programme was carried out by Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius, Bishop of the Ranni- Nilackal diocese on the 16th of November 2009 .Adv. Varghese Mammen, member of the governing council, rendered felicitations.
» A meeting was arranged to felicitate the M.Ed. rank holders of the college on the 20th of November 2009.
» A talent display programme was arranged on the 24th of November 2009.
» A two –day student orientation programme was held for the B.Ed. students at Charal Mount, on the 9th and 10th of December2009. Rev. Dr. T.J. Thomas, Sri. C.J. Kuttappan, Rev. John Geevarghese, and Sri .P.U. Thomas were the leaders.
» The Christmas celebrations were held on the 18th of December2009. There were games in the morning, which was followed by the carol service in the afternoon. His Grace, Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius,bishop of the Kandanad East Diocese of the Orthodox Church delivered the message. The B.Ed., M.Ed., and Staff choirs rendered carols. The nativity play was also enacted.
» A communicative English training programme was held on the 31st of December2009.a team of experts from 'OVERSEAS' English Trainers led the class.
» The arrival of the New Year was celebrated on the 1st of January2010 with fruit for thought by Sri. Varghese C. Thomas, Chief sub editor Malayala Manorama, Kottayam.
» The college joined hands with the Vigil India Movement in organizing a seminar on 'Bio-Diversity Protection Year 2010, on the 4th of January2010.
» The college union 2010 was inaugurated on the 8th of January 2010 by Dr. Alexander Karackal, Former VC of the Kannur University. Prof. Sosamma Varghese, Principal, UCTE Elanthoor felicitated the unanimously elected union.
» A group of Brazilians from an Education Exchange Programme interacted with the students and faculty members of the college on the 15th of January2010. It helped the students to gain an insight into the education system in Brazil. The English Association was also inaugurated on the day.
» The series of Ethics classes for the year 2009-2010 was inaugurated by Sri. George Cherian, Director, Navajeevodayam, Tiruvalla on the 27th of January2010.
» Two simultaneous tour programmes were arranged on the e days from 28th of January2010 to the 30th of January2010. A three day trip to Kanyakumari and a one day trip to Veegaland.
» Smt. Grace Lal inaugurated the year's activities of the women's cell on the 5th of February 2010. This was followed by a session on family and marriage counseling.
» Under the auspices of the social service league a Campus Cleaning Programme was arranged on the 8th of February 2010.
» Dr. C.C. Harilal , Division of Environmental Science, university of Calicut, inaugurated the Natural Science Association on the 8th of February 2010.He spoke on the topic,' Environment and Youth: A teacher's perspective'. A manuscript magazine, BIOWORLD was also released on the occasion.
» Prof. Mathew C. John, HOD, Mathematics department, Mar Thoma College Tiruvalla inaugurated the activities of the mathematics association on the 10th of February 2010. He demonstrated various nuances of Vedic Mathematics. A manuscript magazine named GANITHA JALAKAM was also released on the occasion.
» The annual alumni get-together meeting was held on the 13th of February 2010.
» Dr. Thomas John, Dept. of Botany, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry, inaugurated the activities of the Nature Club on the 15th of February 2010.
» Dr, George C. Chennattussery ,HOD , Dept. of Physics, S.B. College Changanassery inaugurated the Physical science Association on the 17th of February 2010. This was followed by a talk on NUCLEAR MEDICINE. A manuscript magazine FOCUS was also released.
» A unit of the Mar Thoma Students Association was inaugurated in the college by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa on the 23rd of February 2010.
» The college along with the Progressive Forum jointly arranged a seminar on Genetically Modified Crops, on the 23rd of February 2010.
» A meeting was convened on the 12th of March2010 to bid farewell to Sri. George Issahak P., library assistant of the college on the occasion of his retirement.
» Awards Day was celebrated on 31st of March2010, to felicitate the B.Ed. rank holders [First rank - Anu Susan Abraham and Fifth rank- Janssen Joseph] and the top scorers of each optional subject. Sri Joseph M. Puthussery, MLA of Kalloopara was the chief guest.
» A Seminar on the Central Education Act was arranged by the Mahatma Gandhi University Union on the 12th of May 2010.It was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rajan Gurukkal. Adv. Mathew T. Thomas MLA, Sri. P. C. Vishnunath MLA, and Dr.P.K.Biju MP, participated in the seminar and shared their views.
» The college union arranged a programme to welcome the new batch of M.Ed. students on the 13th of May 2010.
» The Golden Jubilee Inter- B.Ed.shuttle Badminton tournament for the Principal's Trophy was held on the days from 19th of May 2010 to 21st of May 2010.
» An orientation programme for the M.Ed. Students was arranged at AMM Bible Institute, Kompady, on the 26th of May 2010.Rev. Dr. T.A. Varghese (Director, Animation Department, Mar Thoma Church) was the main speaker.
» Under the auspices of the Social Service League, a visit was arranged to the Tiruvalla district hospital on the 7th of June 2010. The Mid-day meal was co-sponsored. The students also interacted with the patients and by-standers.
» A Personality Development Programme was led by Sri Appu Joseph Chacko (HRD Consultant and Success Coach) on the 8th of June 2010.
» The Third Inter-B.Ed. Choreography competition conducted by the Alumni Association was held on the 10th of June 2010.
» The Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan Memorial Inter-collegiate debate competition and the 28th Silver Jubilee Memorial Elocution and Light Music Competitions were held on the 11th of June 2010.
» Sri Shaji George(Principal, St. Thomas TTI, Tiruvalla) delivered a talk on 'Effective Teaching and Understanding Children' on the 21st of June 2010.
» The 40 day intensive practice teaching began on the 24th of June2010.
