COLLEGE UNION, ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMITTEES

The aims of the Associations and Committees are to widen the interests of the members, to enrich their social and spiritual experience and to develop leadership, initiative and good citizenship. The following Associations and Committees will be constituted for the current year.

The House System forms an integral part of the B.Ed, programme in the College. The whole students are divided in to four houses- Jyothi, Santhi, Sobha and Deepthi.


Nature Club
Environmental Education is one of our major concerns and this is achieved through Nature Club. Under the auspices of this club various eco-friendly programmes are conducted. This club helps the students to create awareness about our mother nature.

Blood donation Forum
The College has a Blood Donation Forum functioning under the Social Service League. Members of this forum donate blood to the needy. This forum is open to all students.

Women's Cell
All the lady students are the members of this Cell. It organizes Discussions, Seminars and various other useful activities for the students.

Medical Inspection
An annual Medical inspection is arranged for the students. The medical report is kept in the office and a duplicate copy is given to the students.

College Magazine
A magazine committee is in charge of publishing the college magazine every year. The Committee is constituted every year comprising of the Principal (Ex-officio Chairman), Staff Editor, Student Editor and four elected student representatives.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
As the duration of the course is one year we form a Parent Teacher Association every year. The Association includes all faculty members and Parents of all students. It supports the various developmental programmes of the college. Every year it raises a substantial amount from its members. The collections are recorded and proper accounts are kept. An executive committee is selected from the members of PTA to look after its administration.

Alumni Association
The college has an Alumni Association which meets annually on Third Saturday of January. Life membership fee is Rs.100/-. It provides opportunities for the old students to keep in contact with the institution in which they have studied and the members can render valuable service to the institution as resource persons and in conducting various curricular and co-curricular programmes.

   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
STUDENTS SUPPORT SERVICES  
  For supporting the students the following services are offered

Personality Development Cell
The college focuses on the Personality Development of each students of the college. Students are given opportunities to consult with experts in Guidance and

Xerox Copying
The college has a Xerox Copier. Students can take photo copy at concessional rate.

Computer Facility
The computer in the Computer Lab can be used by the students for doing computer applications and data processing. Internet facility is available in the library.

Men's Hostel
The college has a Men's Hostel in the campus itself. It can accommodate 10 students at a time. There is a resident and a nonresident warden. Mess is also available in the Hostel.

Canteen
The Development Department of the Marthoma Sabha runs a canteen adjacent to the college campus which is fruitfully benefited by the college community also.

1. Prof. P.T.Thomas Endowment- Top Scorer of the College.
2. Rev. T.C.Thomas Endowment- Highest marks in Social Science.
3. Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Endowment Highest marks in Natural Science.


Other Activities in 2007-08

1. The B.Ed. course of the academic year 2007-08 was inaugurated on the 12th of November 2007 by His Grace Rt. Rev.Dr. Gee Varghese Mar Athanasus Episcopa
2. The staff retreat was held on the 19th of November 2007. Rev.T.A.Varghese addressed the teachers.
3. The student orientation programme for the year 2007-08 was held on the 4th and 5th of December 2007 at CEC,Charalmount. Fr.Dr M.K George, Principal, Loyola college of social science Tvm, Shri P.U Thomas, Navajeevan center,kottayam and Shri Eapen Mathew, MMA High School Maramon, led the different sessions.
4. A lecture on ‘Human Rights’ was organized on the 10th of Dec 2007. Adv. Prakash charalel delivered the main talk.
5. Under the auspices of the KCC and our college a seminar on ‘Environmental protection and Human health’ was held on the 13th of Dec 2007.
Most Rev. Paulose Mar Pakomios Metropolitan and Prof. Dr. Punnen Kurien Venkedath were the main speakers .
6. The 23rd of November 07 was observed as the communal harmony and Flag Day. Dr Mohan Varghese, Mar Thoma college Tiruvalla, delivered the massage.
7. The activities of the college union for the year 2007-08 was inaugurated by Dr. Cheravalli Sasi, (M.S College kottayam on the 18th and of January 2008, Shri Thomas Neelarmadhom rendered facilitations. The activities of the various associations were also flagged off.
8. The ethics class of the academic year was inaugurated by Rt.Rev. Dr Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragon Metropolitan on the 21st of January 2008. Till date, various classes have been taken by Sr.Germaine , Rev Abraham Zachariah, and Rev. Joe Joseph Kuruvilla
9. The college union organized a series of talks named ‘beads of thought’
• Dr.M.M.Basheer spoke on the topic ‘Secularism’ on 6.2.08.
• Dr.George Thomas, scientist of the national institute of interdisciplinary science and technology, delivered a talk on ‘introduction to Nanomaterials’ on 20.2.08.
• Shri Mathew George , Sub editor of The week’ spoke on the topic ‘Mass media in education’ on 10.3.08.
• Shri Varghese.C.Thomas ,Malayala Manorama ,spoke on ‘Media’s influence’ on 27.3.08.
10. The Rev Dr.Alexander Mar Thoma Valiya metropolitan memorial inter collegiate debate competition and the 25th silver jubilee memorial intercollegiate Elocution and light music competitions were conducted on the 21st of February 2008.
11. The first P.T.A meeting of the academic year 2007-2008 was held on the 11th of March 2008. The office bearers were selected .
12. Gandhi peace Fountation and Titus II teachers colleges joined lands in organizing a meeting for remembering .The live activities of the renowned social activitist Baba Amte on the 6th of March 2008.
13. Under the auspices of the Nature club , Dr.J.G.Ray, S.B.College Changanacherry gave a talk on ‘Teachers education and environment’ on 24th March 08.
14. Under the auspices of the Women’s cell, Dr Renu Jolly Mathew, Senior Gynecologist, Muthoot Medical center , Kozhancherry spoke on ‘sex education’ on the 9th of April 2008.
15. Under the auspices of the Health club, a 10 days yoga class was arranged . Shri Vijayakumar conducted the classes .
16. Social service league led the college in planting trees on the 5th June 2008. A seminar was arranged with co-operation with the Pamba parirakshana samithi to celebrate environment day.
17. The newly installed Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma church, Rt.Rev .Dr Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan ,was felicitated by the college community on the 19th of march 2008.
18. World peace day was celebrated on 30th of January 2008 under the auspices of Gandhi peace foundation. The keynot address was delivered by very Rev Fr.Cherian Ramanalil .
19. A tour programme to Delhi was conducted from the 23rd of February to the 2nd of March 2008. 5 teachers and 40 students participated.
20. A short tour to kanyakumari and thiruvanthapuram was conducted from 26th February to 28th February 2008 5 teachers and 75 students participated.
21. Practice Teaching was organized in 22 schools from the 17th June 2008 to the 28th of July 2008.


Celebration of festivals and national days.

• Under the auspices of the moral and religious association,the X’mas celebrations was held on the 18th of December 2007. The college choice rendered the Carols and Rev A.T.Zachariah, Vicar, St Thomas Mar Thoma church was the chief guest. Various games were also conducted.
• Easter was celebrated on the 19th of march 2008 Mrs Akkamma Anu Cherian, Fr Roji Jacob and Ms Bettina Sibi Shared thoughts on the day.
• Vishu was celebrated on the 11th oh April 2008. Prof K.J.Suresh, NSS Training college ,changanasserry was the chief guest.
• Onam was celebrated on the 4th of September 2008. Shri C.R Krishnakurup was the chief guest.


ALUMNI MEETING 2008

The Golden Jubilee special Alumni Meeting was held on the 9th of February 2008, the first batch student were felicitated.
Under the auspices of the Alumni association, an inter-collegiate choreography competition was organized on the 18th of March 2008. Noted film Director Blessy lype Thomas was the guest of honor and distributed the prizes.
Titus II teachers college and St.Joseph’s Training college Mannanam won the 1st and 2nd prizes respectively.
